Bingo Player banned from local Hall
A regular bingo player has expressed his anger after being banned from visiting his local Mecca Bingo hall. Murry Potter withdrew money from the hall’s cash machine only to discover the £100 consisted of fake notes.
Potter, aged 34 said “I showed the cashier the receipt I’d got from the machine, but she said they still couldn’t accept it. I’ve now been left £100 out of pocket, when both me and my wife are on benefit”
“I went there in the hope of making money, and this was the last thing we needed.
“I feel gutted, and from what I under-stand this has happened at this cash point before, so I’m wondering how long this will go on.
“The manager said he would have to check the CCTV and they have taken the money but have said they are still investigating it.
“I’ve been phoning them asking for the money repeatedly and I said I’ve reported it to the police, and now I’ve been barred from going there altogether.”
“We can confirm we have a report relating to counterfeit currency and we are investigating the matter” said a police spokesperson.
Mecca Bingo, said: “We are aware of the incident because a customer has approached us to say notes from the machine are counterfeit, but we do not know if it was from this machine or from somewhere else.
“Mr Potter has since been barred from our centre because he was found to have these notes.”
