Scunthorpe based bingo regular Pamela Markham won the biggest ever bingo prize recorded in the town’s history yesterday.
Mrs Markham, a 58 year-old chip shop owner, scooped the £194, 188 jackpot during a live game played across Gala Bingo’s 157 UK halls which also included £185,188 to share between other players. To win, she had to reach full house first, and finish with a five.
Seemingly unfazed by her enormous payout, Mrs Markham was back at work within an hour of her win: “”It was all a bit of a blur but we couldn’t let the customers down,” she told reporters. Generously, Mrs Markham has vowed to share her winnings with her sister in law, having always shared previous smaller winnings in the past.
